Flood Insurance
Why Do I Need Flood Insurance?
Flood insurance is usually purchased as an additional protection for your property. Most basic forms of property insurance do not offer protection against floods, which is why it’s important to know what your policy does and does not cover. Floods can strike when you least expect them, and most flood insurance policies take 30 days to go into effect so it’s important that you don’t leave yourself at risk. Meet with one of our experienced insurance professionals today to make sure that your property is protected from natural disaster.

What is Covered?
Depending on your policy, flood insurance can cover damage to both your building and personal property. A building policy will cover the building itself, the electrical and plumbing systems, HVAC equipment, appliances, carpeting, and cabinets. A personal property policy is intended to provide you with coverage for your personal belongings, such as clothing, furniture, electronics, and valuables.
Typically, things located outside are more susceptible to weather damage and therefore are not covered under flood insurance, such as landscaping, walkways, patios, and cars.
